Registration Tips…

The CYA on-line registration system is used by multiple sports. In order to simplify your baseball registration experience, Chantilly Baseball offers these registration tips…

Please go to the on-line registration website to register for baseball…

The Chantilly Little League baseball program is comprised of two leagues  American (AL) & National (NL), based on geographic location. Each league has four divisions (A, AA, AAA, & Majors).

Use the Boundary Checker to determine which league you are in.  Each league is divided into four divisions, Minors A, Minors AA, Minors AAA, and Majors.

Players are assigned to play in the division which is appropriate for their age in accordance with Little League rules. The division for which a player is “league age eligible” will be available on the registration page. League age, as defined by Little League International, as shown below:

Chantilly Little League will work with you to place your child in the most appropriate level based on a combination of safety considerations, the player’s skills & ability, desire to compete, opportunity to grow and develop, roster space and overall enjoyment.  A decision to play-up or play down is taken seriously.  The Chantilly Little League Baseball Board will also take tryouts and coach assessments into consideration to determine whether a player will be allowed to play up.

If you wish to register a player to “play up” in a division that does not appear on the registration page, please use the following guidance:

Play Up” -  Check this box only to request to play in a Little League division other than the level available on the registration form.  If you do check this box, please also explain the desire to “play up” in the “special request” field.

Special Request
Single A – Use this field to request a coach or to be placed on a team with other players.  The Single A coordinator(s) will do their best to honor these requests.

AA,AAA, Majors – Use this field to reiterate desire to “play up”.  Players are drafted by coaches to assemble teams, so coach, player, and carpool requests are not possible to honor.

American League” vs “National League” (Not applicable to TBall and Coach Pitch)
Again, please , Use the Boundary Checker to determine your child’s league. Please note that Little League International rules prevent out-of-boundary players from All Star elligibility.

Interested in Travel” - Please check this box if your child is interested in and would be a strong candidate for a travel team.  This is a competitive team separate from the official little league program with players being selected based on performance and ability.   To be eligible your child must play on a ‘house’ team  (meaning Little League).

Miscellaneous Information…

Uniforms & Equipment

TBall and Coach Pitch players receive full uniforms (socks, pants, jersey, hat).

A,AA,AAA, & Majors players will receive a hat and shirt. Players will be responsible for pants, belts, socks.  Coaches will provide more guidance.

Batting helmets are made available by Chantilly Baseball to each TBall and Coach Pitch team for use during the season, but we encourage players to purchase their own helmets in the older divisions.

Skills Assessments (AA, AAA, Majors only)

All players are encouraged to attend assessments. Managers will assess skill levels and draft teams based on their knowledge of player skills and abilities. Any players hoping to "play up" MUST attend a tryout or they will not be allowed to play up. Any players who have previously played a springMajors season do not have to attend tryouts.

All Little League assessments will be held at TBD in late Feb / early March. Due to space limitations it is recommended that only one parent attend - and no siblings.

If a player is unable to attend a tryout, please contact  Player Agent This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. .

Tryouts are held each spring to assess AA, AAA & Majors player skills. Players will be evaluated by the coaches from their league and division.

Bring your glove, a bat, and a helmet if you have one.  More information will be available when tryouts are announced.
