Little League Residency & School Attendance Eligibility

Dear Little League Official,

In an effort to accommodate Little Leaguers® playing with their classmates, and ease the burden on parents and guardians, Little League® recently amended its residency requirements to allow children to play in the local league whose boundaries where they attend school is located.

In order to accommodate the change, Little League has recently adjusted the Regulation II (d) and II (a) form (Click Here) and created an official Little League school enrollment form (Click Here). This form can be utilized by players that attend school within a league's boundary but would prefer not to provide a school performance record or school registration record in order to enroll in a league for participation.

For further clarification on the new residency requirements, please view the video (Click Here).

The boundaries for Chantilly American and Chantilly National Little Leagues remain the same. Players will now be eligible to play with the league in which the physical location of the school where they attend classes is within the boundaries of that league.

This is a welcome move by Little League to enable more classmates to play together, but since league boundaries (especially in this area) cut across school boundaries, we still have areas where classmates and even neighbors may be separated by leagues.
